nd
deplete our earths resources while piling millions of tonnes of waste
into our landfills using gas guzzling, smog producing trucks costing us
billions of dollars yearly in order to remove and forget a bag of
garbage from the end of a driveway. Why do we do it? How can we fix
this? We don't have all of the answers, but we would like to do our
small part by showing others how increasingly imperative - individually
and collectively - it is to take responsibility for the ecological
management of our waste materials.
Through recycling programs , we are able to give new life to paper and cardboard, as well as metal, glass and plastic containers. We must now intensify our efforts to reduce the amount of compostable materials that we send to the dump, which can be reused for gardening purposes.
Vermicomposting is a method that relies on the work of small earthworms "specialized in decomposing organic matter". It requires little in terms of equipment and can transform kitchen scraps and plant cuttings into rich soil conditioner. This form of composting can be done in a closed container both indoors and outdoors. Vermicomposting is perfect for those who wish to just add worms to there compost bin or may not have access to a garden and are unable to make their own compost outdoors
